General Information

What is FarmersMarket.store?
FarmersMarket.store is an  online marketplace where verified local farmers sell directly to consumers through same‑day delivery via UberEats. Our platform operates 24/7, letting farms reach customers beyond weekend markets and giving families convenient access to fresh, locally grown food.

How is this different from other food delivery services?
We compete on speed, farmer friendliness and value. FarmersMarket.store delivers within hours instead of days, charges farmers a 10% commission, rather than the 25 30% typical on other platforms, and uses existing delivery networks instead of building an expensive fleet. Unlike others—with us, you choose what you want, when you want it, at transparent prices.

Our system lets you update inventory from an online mobile dashboard.

When and how do I get paid?
After you’ve connected your own Stripe account, payouts are scheduled automatically. By default, Stripe initiates transfers to your bank account on a weekly basis; you can adjust this schedule or request instant payouts (for an extra fee). Funds are usually available two days after the order is completed. Because payouts flow through Stripe, you don’t need to handle any accounting for commissions—everything is split automatically

Questions for Customers

How does ordering work?

  1. Browse local farms: Discover fresh produce from verified farms in your area.
  2. Multi‑farm cart: Add items from different farms; our shared‑basket system lets you pay one delivery fee per farm pickup and pay for everything in a single order.
  3. Select delivery: Choose same‑day delivery (2–6 hours) or schedule it for the next day; deliveries run from 7 AM to 8 PM.
  4. Enjoy fresh food: Your order arrives at your door the same day.

How much does delivery cost?

  • Standard customers: $10 per delivery plus a 2.9% + $0.30 payment fee.
  • Market PLUS members: Free delivery on qualifying orders over $50.

What is the minimum order?
Since the customer will pay each delivery fee, there is no minimum order.

Where do you operate?
We focus on mid‑size metro areas with strong Uber Eats coverage and limited competition. Grand Junction launches in August 2025, Denver will follow later that year, and new markets will be announced via newsletter.

How do you ensure food quality and safety?
Food Safety & Delivery Standards (Colorado)
We follow Colorado’s Retail Food rules (adopting the FDA Food Code):

  • Cold, perishable (TCS) foods are packed at 41°F (5°C) or below in insulated carriers.

  • Hot foods leave our hub at 135°F (57°C) or above in insulated hot bags.

  • Deliveries are typically 10–20 minutes within our service area.

What if temperature control isn’t practical (e.g., short hot food runs)?
We use a documented option called Time as a Public Health Control (TPHC). Items are clearly time-labeled, must be delivered/consumed within a strict window, and are discarded if they exceed it.

How are items packaged?
All orders are covered/sealed and use tamper-evident closures. Raw proteins are segregated from ready-to-eat items to avoid cross-contamination.

Who actually delivers my order?
We partner with Uber Direct (a third-party courier). Colorado law requires delivery services to have the merchant’s consent—we maintain written agreements with our vendors and couriers.

Are your facilities licensed?
Our micro-hub operates under the local health department’s retail food license. Vendors using cottage-food rules sell non-perishable products only; perishable items move through licensed facilities.

What if I’m not satisfied with my order?
We offer full refunds or free replacements for damaged or unsatisfactory items and provide 24/7 support for resolution.

Can I use SNAP/EBT benefits?
Acceptance of SNAP‑EBT is on our roadmap; we plan to introduce SNAP‑capable partners by mid‑2026. Sign up for updates to know when this feature launches.
